Do I need to buy anything else ?
No, everything that you need to complete the course is included in the price. We will loan you all the equipment, your manuals and dive tables are yours to keep. We have found that most people do tend to treat themselves to a mask, snorkel, fins and boots during the course. We do suggest you wait until after your pool class if you so desire to purchase equipment. It is during this time you find out what proper fitting equipment feels like.
How many people will be in my class ?
It depends on your choice of course, however our Open water classes have maximum of 6 students in the class. We like to keep our student numbers low so as we can concentrate on you during the course this greatly benefits you.
Do many women learn to dive ?
Yes ! About 58% of our students are women and the figure is growing all the time! We love having the ladies along; they are more intent on looking at the pretty stuff and generally having a good time and generally make better divers, so we go out of our way for our lady divers.
What is the minimum age ?
In Queensland the minimum age to take part in the Open Water program is 12.
Do I have to be a strong swimmer ?
No. Swimming is just a small part of diving. We look for you to be calm and confidant in the water, not to have great physical prowess. We teach you to dive using your brain not your back. The equipment is there to make it easier!
When does the next course start ?
Our courses start when you are ready. Due to most people working week days, the majority of courses start on weekends, however we do run mid week courses. Once you have signed in for a course you will be given the course material and left to study at your own pace !
Do I have to pay for the course up front ?
NO. All we ask is for a deposit first and the balance is payable before the end of your course. We will not certify or send you out for your last dives until all payments have been made.
