USS Ronald Reagan

The Day the Reagan Came To Visit:

A visit to our shores from the United States Aircraft Carrier, USS Ronald Reagan brought an air of excitement, amazement and wonder to Brisbane. With its massive size and huge number of personal on board, DiveXsite was lucky enough to capture the presence of 11 crew members and show them some of the sights that Brisbane, well more so, what Stradbroke Island has to offer.

A days diving around “Flat Rock” and “Manta Ray Bommie” was just awesome. A Beautiful day with warm waters, no swell, no wind and a viz of 15mtrs and 20 mtrs plus, oh and plenty to see: leopard sharks, bull rays, eagle rays, turtles, lion fish, wobbiegong sharks, feather stars, schooling fish and more was just too much for some divers to handle.

Some of the divers were completing courses which were started back in the states, what a better way to finish a course than in our beautiful waters.

No visit to any foreign place is complete without tasting the local cuisine, so we ended the day by feasting on the famous “Staddie burger”. The day proved to be very successful and I enjoyed the company of the guys though I must apologize for my continuous renditions of "top gun", again it was a fun day and thanks very much.
